Target Audience

This educational activity is intended for dermatology nurse practitioners and physician associates, as well as those practicing in primary care, who are engaged in the care of patients with hidradenitis suppurativa.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this educational activity is to improve the knowledge and competence of nurse practitioner and physician associate learners in managing patients with hidradenitis suppurativa.

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Utilize evidence-based guidelines to diagnose hidradenitis suppurativa in patients presenting with complex or atypical skin lesions

  • Evaluate clinical data of current and emerging therapeutic options for patients with hidradenitis suppurativa, considering patient-specific factors such as comorbidities and treatment history

  • Design personalized treatment plans that include patient preferences, lifestyle factors, and shared decision-making to optimize outcomes

  • Integrate patient perspectives and clinical evidence into collaborative care models that enhance communication and improve adherence to treatment plans
