Target Audience

This educational activity is intended for dermatology nurse practitioners and physician associates, as well as those practicing in primary care, who are engaged in the care of patients with atopic dermatitis and prurigo nodularis.

Program Learning Goal

The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Atopic Dermatitis

Learning Objectives

Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to: 

  • Describe the impact of pruritus on the overall burden of living with AD and PN, highlighting its effects on patient quality of life, disease progression, and the challenges in effective management

  • Incorporate evidence-based tools for the measurement and assessment of itch into clinical practice to enhance patient care and treatment outcomes

  • Develop treatment plans for patients with AD and PN that take into consideration evidence for new and emerging therapies targeting neuroinflammation and itch

Heather Woolery-Lloyd, MD is a board-certified dermatologist and board certified in Lifestyle Medicine. She completed her undergraduate studies at Georgetown University and later earned her medical degree at the University of Miami School of Medicine. She completed her training in dermatology at the University of Miami where she also served as chief resident. Dr. Woolery-Lloyd is an internationally recognized dermatology and wellness expert.
