Info

Topic

In this highly interactive Masterclass, healthcare professionals will engage in case-based learning to address major gaps in ASCVD prevention, including lipoprotein(a) testing, personalized lipid-lowering strategies, and barriers to guideline-directed care. Faculty will provide practical guidance to support improved patient outcomes.

Additional Information

Agenda:

  • Welcome, Opening Remarks, and Baseline Assessment
  • Residual Risk Riffs: Monitoring Lipids and the Importance of Lp(a)
  • Crooning About Current Therapy: Individualizing ASCVD Care With Statin and Nonstatin Therapies
  • Bassline of Care: Challenges, Future Directions, and the Importance of Holistic Care
  • Postassessment and Evaluation
  • Summarize Key Points and Question and Answer Session

Goal Statement
The goal of this program is to improve the knowledge, competence, and performance of learners in effort to optimize treatment for patients with Dyslipidemia.

Target Audience
This educational activity is intended for cardiology physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician associates who care for patients with ASCVD.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Recognize Lp(a) as an alternative biomarker of ASCVD risk and of residual risk when taking LDL-C into account

  • Plan individualized, guideline-recommended lipid-lowering treatment strategies using nonstatin or combination therapies to improve patient outcomes, as measured by Lp(a)

  • Implement guideline-directed ASCVD care that addresses gaps in patient-centered approaches and avoids clinical inertia.
