Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve the knowledge and competence of learners in diagnosing and managing systemic mastocytosis so that patients will experience improvements in symptoms and quality of life and reduced disease progression.

Target Audience
This activity is intended for US-based physicians, including residents and fellows, physician associates, and nurse practitioners practicing in allergy/immunology and dermatology who care for patients with systemic mastocytosis.

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  •  Describe the pathogenesis, spectrum of clinical presentation, and differential diagnosis of SM

  •  Implement current consensus criteria to establish a diagnosis and subtype of patients with SM

  •  Evaluate clinical safety and efficacy data for new and emerging targeted therapies for SM
