Speakers
Dr. Varshasb Broumand is the President of the Medical Board-Christus Santa Rosa Health System in San Antonio, TX, and Health System Medical Director for Inpatient Dialysis at Christus Santa Rosa Health System. He is also the attending physician of the Renal Consult Service-Christus Santa Rosa Family Practice Residency Program in San Antonio, TX, and the attending nephrologist in interventional nephrology at South Texas Renal Care Group in San Antonio, TX. He received his medical degree from the University of Miami School of Medicine in Miami, FL. Dr. Broumand completed his residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, FL and then completed his fellowship in nephrology at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Dr. Broumand has been a principal investigator and sub-investigator for numerous clinical trials. He is an author of several publications in various journals, including the Nephrology Dialysis Transplantation, American Journal of Nephrology, and the Journal of the American Society of Nephrology. He has also been the recipient of many honors and awards throughout his career with his most recent being awarded as Outstanding Clinical Teacher of the Christus Santa Rosa Family Medicine Residency Program. He is affiliated with the American Society of Diagnostic and Interventional Nephrology, and is board certified in nephrology.
