Goal Statement
The goal of this activity is to improve learners’ competence in implementing optimal HIV treatment and prevention strategies through the appropriate use of contemporary antiretroviral regimens.

Target Audience
This program is intended for physicians, registered nurses, nurse practitioners, physician associates, pharmacists, and other healthcare professionals who provide care for people living with or at risk of HIV infection. 

Learning Objectives
Upon completion of this activity, participants should be able to:

  • Integrate strategies to proactively consider patient candidacy for long-acting ART, administer it appropriately, support patient adherence to dosing visits, and minimize barriers to uptake and adverse events
  • Describe the considerations for initiation and use of long-acting injectable ART for PrEP
  • Select an appropriate initial ART regimen for a patient experiencing seroconversion who was previously receiving long-acting PrEP
